The recent body of work includes a suite of bronze castings that describe their own production. Presented as exploded diagrams the sculptures final ‘purpose’ is paused. This schematic view allows the observer to imagine a multitude of outcomes for each piece.


A series of 8 light-domes or ‘portals’ will compliment the static bronzes, these works are cast glass lenses. Each portal has a unique motif embossed in it and is back-lit, they are mounted in totara frames. Two interactive/kinetic installation works are also under construction.


These pieces are wind-up or lever driven machines that prescribe an action of indeterminate origin and outcome. ‘Indefinite Articulation is an exhibition exploring three dimensions:

  1. One; a precise interaction of componentry and intent staging an event.
  2. Two; works that utilise light as a lure to present a narrative vignet, a portal into another world.
  3. And thirdly; static artworks that engage the imagination by implying some usefulness that has been arrested in its development. All three create a suspension of belief, a puzzle that will leave viewers musing.
