    Greenhouse

A large timber key constructed from sustainably harvested macrocarpa. The milled slabs are laminated together with a weatherproof glue to ensure stability for future reproduction in bronze or iron. The key can be turned by spectators framing an ever-changing panorama of the environment it occupies. The piece asks viewers to closely observe and consider their relationship with their surroundings.

A large fibreglass bean is being constructed upon which to mount a 1:20 scale model of the iconic 'bean-rock' lighthouse. The lighthouse form as a navigational marker represents safe passage and potential harbourage. I am intending to subvert these messages by indicating that this one has come adrift.
