“The underlying theme of Oliver’s work deals with the issues of globalisation and the environment, matters of concern to this young artist, he also has the ability to couple moral ethics with humour. This is evident in his bronze piece entitled ‘Admit One’ a money taking ticket machine that looks satirically at modern obsession and over indulgence. Not only is Oliver’s Work unique in it’s design, but also unique in that it encourages interaction with the viewer by way of moving parts or smooth surfaces that are irresistible to the hand. The tactile nature of his sculpture is something he vigorously promotes and to a degree this sets him apart from others in his field “. David Gillan
