Tale of the Beached Buoy and her Babies, An amorphous cetacean tragedy.
Were this buoy to die in post natal rupture
Or perhaps one too many winds? Strewn her innards on the sand to be taken to the deep by the next spring tide.
Without her sonar beacon, The highly strung progeny revolve, In disbelief at the silence of the world.

Oliver was born in Kaikohe in 1968 and raised in Kerikeri, spending plenty of time in and around the historic Kerikeri Basin. Early encounters with a multitude of partially restored antiques and artifacts in the museum of the Stone Store, fuelled a desire to create objects of utilitarian and aesthetic interest. His first sculptures were produced at the age of 14 in the shed that would eventually house New Zealand`s first blacksmith`s forge. Read more about Oliver
